Fun thing about a braai is: you can bring your own meal (see
description) ... so if you want tofu burger and soy-bean-sausage, just
bring them along.
But here's a little social skill idea:
If you're an ubuntu-user, the best way to spread the word, is to be
positive about your own system - not through nagging about how evil and
bad those other OS'es are. The last will guarantee you that most people
around you will avoid you like a sore thumb (including a lot of other
ubunteros).
Obviously, there are places where discussions can be held (since they
are explicitly expected): discussion groups, drunk talk in café, being
with a few like-minded people having fun or getting angry about how evil
that other system is... But even then, these forums tend to live a short
life if they're on the internet. Many users tend to stray away if you
start in this kinds of discussions.
So here's my suggestions: in stead of ramping along about how evil meat
is... offer the good people of Ubuntu an alternative: go along, and
bring some vegetarian alternatives for the attendants to enjoy.
Obviously it implies that you not be offended if someone refuses your
alternative and prefers to have a piece of meat.
Anyway, if you really want to continue this discussion, feel free to
mail me in person, and I'll gladly cater you. But unless you can stay on
the topic of Ubuntu, I suggest you don't continue on this list.
As Maik said: on a forum this post would be closed if the moderators did
a half decent job. On a mailinglist you can get banned - I hope it
doesn't have to come this far (it's not my call though, I don't have any
special rights on the mailinglist).
Grtz,
Jurgen.
