Ubuntu's new desktop and netbook environment "Unity". We'll also look into
how to secure email exchange with strong encryption and discuss the latest
developments with regards to the ongoing procurement of Windows 7 in the
EU institutions.
You are all welcome to join.
Best
regards,
Indrek Tarand

What
is Unity
Ubuntu and the Unity
interface
Wouter
Vandenneucker
Unity is a
new desktop and netbook environment from Ubuntu which
provides a complete, simple, touch-ready integration of
applications and workflow. It looks a bit like iPad or
Android interfaces and is designed for netbooks and
related touch-based devices. It makes it fast and easy
to access preferred applications. Wouter will show
how.

Answers to
parliamentary questions to the Commission on the
procurement of Windows 7 has raised further questions
relating to both the Digital Agenda and procurement
guidelines published by the Commission. Erik will sum up
the state of
play.
Autumn
plans
Before the summer break it's
always good to look ahead. We'll brainstorm on what we'd
like to focus on in September and plan for the next
