IRC meeting 07/10/2010 – Report

1. Future events - October 2010
  a.  Dipro fair Kortrijk (10/10)
Only 4 volunteers from Ostend and Brugge, and nobody from kortrijk area !

  c. Release parties for Maverick Meerkat 10.10 : no information

  d. About importance of the booth/event reports (and pictures)
Booth/event reports are important as information source about our 
activities : links are published in our monthly report, which is part of 
the (worldwide) Ubuntu Weekly Report – everybody has access to our 
booth/event reports. Additionally, reports are important as information 
source for future re-approval procedure, a kind of memory about “what we 
have done”. A few short sentences and a few pictures is enough.

2. Promotion
  a. Adding links to the website

The email contact-address for this matter is contact op ubuntu-be.org.
An email with  announcement was sent to the mailing list. Feel free to 
relay the information to interested people/companies/organizations 
through personal contacts. First request was received.

  b. t-shirts for Ubuntu-be   (warddr is leading the project, but not 
present)
Result of the pre-selection:  v2-be;  v4-be;  v6-be, see the designs in  
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/PromotionMaterial/ProposalsT-shirts. 
We wait initiative from warddr or a call for a special meeting on this 
issue.

  c. Ubuntu and Facebook
The Ubuntu-be Facebook group is now working with an animation (and 
administrating) team :

Suggestions/propositions to improve our Facebook image and presentation 
are welcome.
We will evaluate this issue within a few weeks/months.

3. Update Wiki Belgian Team
  No reaction to last week proposal to review the page 
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam with a limitation to 10 topics. We 
will come back on this issue within a few weeks. Suggestions are allways 
welcome.

4. Support points map status
mongolito404 is working further on this issue, no information on the 
progress of the migration to the new support points presentation.

5. Things living in the mailing list and others questions
The LoCo council asks locoteams to log their main channel or at least 
proposes to do that: it seems useful for the LoCo council in case there 
are conflicts inside locoteams. Although no benefit is expected for 
Ubuntu-be, there was no objection. One thing that would change: we would 
have to make sure that we don't mention plain e-mail address or personal 
information.
