An often forgotten method is also installing Ubuntu on a usb stick,
which is really made simple the USB Startup disk creator.
You can use this USB as an alternative install medium, not needing to
burn an iso, but it can be used as a live environment, with
persistent storage.
When people think dual booting is too complex or too dangerouse, or if
want a portable personal Linux environment without having a laptop on
the move, this can be a very handy alternative.
