IRC meeting report
Present at the IRC meeting 08/07/2009 (in random order): Gh0sty, JanC,
jean7491, Indra6oc, Carroarmato0, Mosterdzaadje, profoX, zuzuzzzip
1. Future events
- BBQ InterLUG2009 organized on 22/08 in Liège (city) by Lilit.be:
detailled information will be posted in the mailing list, as soon as
available (next week(s)?)
- Forecast September: Dipro fairs in Ghent (06/09), Antwerpen (13/09)
and Hasselt (27/09)
Teams for Ghent and Antwerpen: likely no difficulty. For Hasselt, we
need to form the team (starting on 01/09).
Volunteers, please add your names in the wiki
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/ComputerFairs)
- No information about the Software Freedom Day and activities on 19/09.
2. Promotion material
- Limited response to the proposal to print new posters and flyers -
without material, we will not be able to present a correct booth at the
next fairs!
Ubuntu-be has a remaining stock of +/- 1500 old posters "de weg naar
vrijheid", but for a booth, we need more different and more attractive
posters.
Additionally we have no printed flyers.
- We are working on home-printed CD sleeves for self-burned CD's.
- The problem of a support for posters remains: we need something better
than improvised do-it-yourself solution. To be added to the event-boxes.
- Proposal to paint an big Ubuntu-be banner (Indra6oc in Stekene – St
Niklaas) with a "social" event" (BBQ, camping, ...). Indra6oc will
post information about date and organization in the mailing-list.
3. Next IRC meeting in 3 weeks on 29/07/2009 at 21 h.
