I created the VZW 'Vlavenier vzw' (http://nierpatient.be ) a few years back
and running a VZW is not such a hard task. Major advantages of the VZW are
(following in Dutch):

- Open boekhouding voor alle leden ter inzage. Met leden wordt bedoeld zij
die lid uitmaken van het bestuur, niet de andere leden.
- Scheiding tussen prive en VZW vermogen. Alfeitelijke vereniging kan je als
persoon aangegaan worden en kun je veroordeeld worden om koste uit je zak te
betalen
- Het hebben van een verzekering voor je leden. Als nu iemand zijn been
breekt op de parking van een Dipro site, dan moet ie zelf voor de kosten
opdraaien. Onze VZW had daarvoor bij Ethias een verzekering. Hoe verzeker je
vrijwilligers als feitelijke vereniging?
- Sponsors komen makkelijker af op een VZW omdat je als 'rechtspersoon' met
een BTW nummer voor hen een normale partner bent, en sponsoring dan ook
volledig legaal en transparant wordt.
