I have done some minor Drupal (contrib) patches (D5), however I'm no PHP

Nodeprofile is great indeed: http://drupal.org/project/nodeprofile. I
have to verify the following, but since profiles are nodes (if we go
with nodeprofile), then their content is indexed by Drupal's core search.

If profile nodes are searchable, this is solved.
