[Ubuntu-be] [Support points map] Rewriting from scratch...

Hoi,

Yesterday I was thinking about how to do the Support points map right
and it slowly becomes clear that working from the existing code base
is not a real good idea. Off course there is things to keep in the
existing code and what's need to be done is mostly refactoring of
code. But, on the other side, the code base is not big and the
(current) features are limited.

So i'm seriously thinking to restart from scratch. And to reduce work,
to use an existing PHP Framework. For the framework, CakePHP and
CodeIgniter seems good choice. Currently the second has my preference.

To me, the only 'cost' of the rewrite is the need to write a
conversion script to fetch existing data from the current databases
and to insert it into a new database (new schema).

I plan to work on it this week end.
