Maybe Cortado (Java applet player for Ogg Vorbis and Theora) from
Fluendo (http://www.flumotion.net/cortado/) could be used. But I don't
know if, at the moment, Cortado works with free Java VM (providing
browser plugins), on the website it's said that it should be
"buildable" using "Jikes or GCJ Classpath" . Anyway, Sun's Java is
available for more platform than Flash and Sun may be less evil than
Macromedia.
