No webmail is affected by virus. When the program called virus obtain the
mail ID and password, then it uses these information to send mail. They
don't use webmail, rather they use software/program that can send mail. To
send mail form any account only id and password is enough, no need to enter
into that email account using that website. Because, mail/smtp address
format are common for most of the email service provider.
