[Ubuntu-BD] Alien

Hello,

Having trouble installing alien. Followed this: 
http://content.hccfl.edu/pollock/AUnix1/alien/

Now thing is like this:

[Nirjhor at localhost ~]$ cd Downloads/
[Nirjhor at localhost Downloads]$ ls
alien              alien-extra.rpm         
alien_8.78.tar.gz  deb-1.10.27-3.i586.rpm  html2text-1.3.2a-3.i586.rpm
[Nirjhor at localhost Downloads]$ rpm -q alien
package alien is not installed


I have installed html2text normally and alien forcefully. Also alien-extra 
forcefully. I also have perl installed. Now problem is this:

[root at localhost alien]# perl Makefile.PL

Any help? Anyone?
