Hello everyone,

I have built a new website for Ubuntu lovers. The site is located at

http://ubuntu-apps.appspot.com/

The goal of this site is to build an APT front-end for web-browsers
with the help of community. Registered users can add their favourite
apps in the site. This will let other users to install it on their
machine. Users can also vote for apps that are already listed. And
useful comments from the users will certainly help others to find what
they are looking for. It has a social-networking nature, too. You can
add users to your friends list and follow their favourite apps.

Actually, the main idea behind the site is to use the very much useful
program already installed in your Ubuntu system. It's called apturl.
Because of this program you can install software from the repositories
right inside the web browser. It assigns a protocol apt: to the
browser. So that, to install VLC you can just type apt:vlc in your
browser's address bar and hit Enter. Your VLC will be installed in
your system. Of course, provided you have the right/necessary
repositorie(s) activated in your repo list.

You may visit the FAQ page: http://ubuntu-apps.appspot.com/faq/

The site is in Beta testing. You are most welcome to test the site and
report bugs and improvements at:

http://ubuntu-apps.appspot.com/contact/

Thank you for your kind patience.
