Thanks for the quick reply!

As I am a Structural Engineer, I need to use applications (ETABS, SAP2000,
STAAD.PRO, etc.) which are sadly only available in Windows and does not
run properly under Wine.

Moreover, Finite Element solvers that these applications employ seem to
run faster in 64 bit Windows.

However, I am an open source enthusiast willing to try different flavors.
