[ Ubuntu-BD ] I can't connect to Internet in ubuntu

I am using a broadband internet connection(DSL). In windows i have to
connect it manually like a dial-up connection. I had to create a connection
that requires an user name and password.

But in ubuntu I could not find any option to create a connection like that.
I was a user of ubuntu7.04 and recently I am using the ubuntu8.04 and I am
facing the same problem here.

Please help me to solve the problem.
