[ Ubuntu-BD ] Differences between linux kernels

You should use man for knowing details about any command options.

uname -r gives you the kernel build. Here it is a special Ubuntu release number.

uname -m gives you the processor architecture which is i686 in your case.

Read the manual by typing

man uname
