14.04 x64 bit version installs and runs fine here. Used the test-case
and expanded a little with effects and a final export.

[not sure what this means] Package builds with modification (see attached debdiff)

[not found] ardour-dbgsym installs cleanly and runs
[X] ardour-i686 installs cleanly and runs
[X] ardour installs cleanly and runs
[x] ardour-altivec installs cleanly and runs

set at sakrebook:~$ sudo apt-get install ardour-dbgsym

Building dependency tree       
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package ardour-dbgsym
