Please backport barcode 0.98+debian-9.1 (universe) from vivid to trusty,
utopic.

Reason for the backport:
========================
Current version of barcode is build without -fPIC flag. This breaks packages
built with this flag that are linking against barcode library. Please see bug
#1248131 for details.

You can test-build the backport in your PPA with backportpackage:
$ backportpackage -u ppa:<lp username>/<ppa name> -s vivid -d trusty barcode
$ backportpackage -u ppa:<lp username>/<ppa name> -s vivid -d utopic barcode

Reverse dependencies:

For reverse-dependencies, please test that the version of the package currently in the release still works with the new barcode installed. Reverse- Recommends, Suggests, and Enhances don't need to be tested, and are listed for completeness-sake.
