Public bug reported:
Please backport exfat-utils 1.0.1-1 (universe) from trusty to precise,
quantal.
Reason for the backport:
========================
exFAT filesystems are becoming fairly common. As the LTS will still be supported for some time, it would be nice if it could support this filesystem, similar to the rationale for backporting hardware support.
Testing:
========
Built in ppa:rtandy/exfat. Took an exFAT filesystem created on Windows 7, fsck'ed it, and changed the volume label. Afterwards, back on Windows, verified with chkdsk.exe that the filesystem was still sane. Repeated the same on precise and quantal.
* precise:
[✓] Package builds without modification
[✓] exfat-utils installs cleanly and runs
* quantal:
[✓] Package builds without modification
[✓] exfat-utils installs cleanly and runs
Reverse dependencies:
=====================
exfat-utils
-----------
* exfat-fuse
[✓] quantal (Reverse-Recommends)
- verified that exfat-utils from quantal still works normally after installing the backported exfat-fuse
