Public bug reported:
libimage-exiftool-perl from the upcoming release includes significant
improvements in the types of XMP metadata it can read/write.
The specific XMP schema I am concerned with is Darwin Core (DWC). It was
included in exiftool since version 9.16.
I have installed the package from trusty on precise, it installed
without error and I was able to modify image metadata without any errors
as well. The package does not have any additional dependencies.
More info on exiftools support for DwC is here:
http://u88.n24.queensu.ca/exiftool/forum/index.php?topic=4442.0
As this is a LTS version offering 5 years of support, I feel it is
important that this critical functionality be available to the Precise
user base.
