[Bug 1216847] [NEW] Several bugs in netatalk 3.0, play video from share breaks down, time machine backup gets broken after a few weeks

Public bug reported:

Due to the fact of several bugs in the current version of netatalk, that
is provided through the repository of ubuntu precise, I'd like to
request a backport to a new version.

The bugs, mentioned in the subject are already known by the netatalk
developer team and are solved in the current release (3.0.5).

Bugs that I experienced:
- Playing a video file from a network share is not possible and causes the several players to crash (VLC, MPlayer)
- Time Machine requests a full initial backup after a few weeks of the first backup because "the current backup is broken"

Would it be possible to provide a newer version of netatalk through the
backports repository?
