Public bug reported:

Please backport synergy 1.4.10-1 (universe) from raring to quantal.

Reason for the backport:
========================

Synergy 1.4.x is the current and only upstream maintained branch of
synergy. Although this release is marked beta upstream, in my experience
(over the last year or so) it is as stable as the old 1.3 branch and
fixes quite a few bugs.

In addition the protocol used in synergy 1.4.x (now in raring) is not
backwards compatible with the old 1.3.x series.

Testing:
========
Mark off items in the checklist [X] as you test them, but please leave the checklist so that backporters can quickly evaluate the state of testing.

You can test-build the backport in your PPA with backportpackage:
$ backportpackage -u ppa:<lp username>/<ppa name> -s raring -d quantal synergy

* quantal:
[X] Package builds without modification
[X] synergy installs cleanly and runs

Reverse dependencies:
=====================
The following reverse-dependencies need to be tested against the new version of synergy. For reverse-build-dependencies (-Indep), please test that the package still builds against the new synergy. For reverse-dependencies, please test that the version of the package currently in the release still works with the new synergy installed. Reverse- Recommends, Suggests, and Enhances don't need to be tested, and are listed for completeness-sake.
