Public bug reported:

The 1.1 release of the Theora video compression library arrived only
just too late for Karmic's release, it would be fantastic to have it
backported from Lucid.

The quality video from the 1.1 release of libtheora is on par with
current h.264 encoders, while 1.0 is very blocky. Our company produces
websites (all on Ubuntu, bar the graphic designers' Photoshop
machines...) and are trying to move to the HTML5 VIDEO element for
embedded video, rather than flash. Having a better theora encoder
behind ffmpeg2theora would be a great help in that effort. :-)
