[Bug 315264] Re: Please backport config-package-dev 4.9 from Jaunty to Hardy/Intrepid

The Debathena project at MIT (http://debathena.mit.edu) uses config-
package-dev 4.9 extensively across several releases, including Hardy and
Intrepid. It's a build dependency for several dozen of our packages.
There are 5-8 Debathena developers, all of whom would have config-
package-dev installed on their personal machines, including some who use
Hardy and some who use Intrepid. It's also installed on 20 demo
workstations across campus.

I don't know how much that counts for coming from the person who opened
the bug, but config-package-dev 4.9 is no less solid than 4.7 as far as
I know.
