With regard to the SRU issue, this doesn't seem to fit the criteria at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates

Even the tuxpaint change log treats this like a feature addition rather than a bug fix:
* Added "--allowscreensaver" option, which prevents Tux Paint from disabling
  the screensaver or monitor power management while running.

So, this would appear to be a backport issue rather than a SRU.
However, I will understand if this isn't a high priority for the
backports team.  Beyond simply resolving this tuxpaint issue, this is a
chance for me to get familiar with Launchpad and contributing to the
Ubuntu community.
