Hi, I posted a debdiff for feisty and adapted it to gutsy. It is attached. It changes debhelper to version 5 and lowers build deps for feisty. It should therefore build on gutsy too.
Please clearify what matters are relevant for  the new Debian Python policy - I don't know it.
