Please backport rtorrent 0.7.4-2 from Gutsy (or Debian unstable). It has
been the stable version for 2 months and includes many bug fixes and
support for encryption. It requires a backport of libtorrent10
(0.11.4-1), also in Gutsy/Debian unstable.
