The most recent update to the fglrx driver seems to work for me under
the 2.6.20-16-generic kernel around the 6/29/07 timeframe.

upgrade xorg-driver-fglrx 7.1.0-8.34.8+2.6.20.5-16.28 7.1.0-8.34.8+2.6.20.5-16.29
upgrade linux-restricted-modules-2.6.20-16-generic 2.6.20.5-16.28 2.6.20.5-16.29

Is anyone else seeing this improvement?
