I am currently running a 2.6.16 self compiled kernel which fixes

source-2.6.15/+bug/42578 but has caused other problems - such as no
cdrom :(

I have given up hope seeing that bug get fixed in a backport.  I would
like to see an official 2.6.17 backport as self compiling is less than
optimal.
