Hi,
System: 2 sata, 3 ide drives

Feisty is on my default boot drive. I choose other OS' by F12.

How can I install another release on an empty drive without changing any other grubs or MBR? I don't want the new install to know anything about the other OS' - so no reference to them in its grub either?

If I unplug the other drives, install and plug the other drives back in I can do it but then the fstab, mtab and whatever else show the wrong /sda, /sdb etc for the drives and Disk Analyzer is useless - I found that out with my current, main, Feisty. And it can cause problems.

It is very important to me that no other grub or Windows even know in their grubs or MBR of other installations. No chainloaders, no dedicated super grub partitions etc.

How can I do this please?

If I have to unplug the drives, how can I get the entries in fstab etc to be right?

Many thanks,
David
