Hi folks,
I have a friend that wants to dump Vista and try Ubuntu on her laptop.
She uses a Virgin Mobile Broadband USB modem (on the 3G network) and I
can't find any easy ways of getting it to work in Linux. Has anyone on
this list had any success with a similar device?

I have PCMCIA and USB 3G modems working with my ubuntu laptop, along
with my phone :)
What is the model information on the under side of the modem. Knowing
this will help me point you in the right direction.
Cheers

I dont have a 3G one going but i have an iBurst USB modem working with
7.04. No luck with 7.10 though. But then again i used Automatix on the
laptop and the upgrade was a real huge mess. I may fix it at some point.
The iBurst modem had a sourceforge project going so a good chance the
3g one may as well.
