I am puzzled. How can you have VoIP working but without internet access. It does not work without internet access.

I opted for a router/modem with VoIP built in. Still, both the modem function and VoIP function had to be set up separately.
Setup is done via your browser and not operating system dependent.

As far as I know, the adaptor should be plugged into one of the ethernet ports of the modem.

Cheers,
Andre

Thanks for the reply. I have a present VOIP setup which is working fine
but it it the new equipment that is causing me a headache. Ubuntu wont
see the modem only the VOIP adapter which means I am not getting
Internet access. I have all the publication for the equipment though the
instruction are Windows based. I have it wired right as this was
confirmed by a VOIP tech. For some reason Ubuntu only sees the adaptor
and not the modem. When I revert back to the original adaptor it sees
the modem without a problem.
