Introductory message

Hello.

I have just found the existence of this mailing list, in searching for
the web pages of other Ubuntu mailing lists, to which to refer a
person on the PLUG list, who appears to be a new user of Ubuntu Linux.

I have various computers; a desktop and some laptop computers, on
which I run UbuntuMATE 15.10, as it provides the GUI that is like MS
Windows 95, that I like that GNOME 2 had provided.

I found, after about 18 months of trying to get a non-MS operating
system running on my souper-dooper computer (a laptop with an i7 CPU
and an nVIDIA graphics thing, and 32GB of RAM), that only dragonflyBSD
and Ubuntu, had drivers for the CPU (Haskell architecture), and, only
Ubuntu had drivers for nVIDIA and that CPU.

So, only Ubuntu could drive that computer (An Acer V3-772G).

I am posting this message, to introduce myself as a UbuntuMATE
user.
