James,

I liked the pancake manor personally, they were easy to deal with and
there was a range of food. All I did was ring them 24 hours prior and
told them how many people we were expecting but this was a Monday
night, they might want more notice for a Friday/Saturday night. There
is plenty of public transport and parking nearby as it's in the CBD.
It is licensed so you can purchase alcohol if you would like but you
don't have to be 18 to get in. The only downside I see is that there
is no wifi, but if we are aiming for a social celebration as opposed
to a technical get together I really don't see this as an issue.

Again if we are aiming for a social celebration then the Thursday or
Friday the week of the actual release might be the most appropriate
time. That being said there is no reason we can't hold an
upgrade/install fest a week or two later somewhere more inviting to
technical matters? I'd vote for both if I had the chance and I wasn't
working. I have no idea how many we'd get for a technical
update/install fest though, if it's 10 - 15 I could offer my house as
a location but much more than that and it will get a bit tight. I do
however have tea/coffee facilities and a reasonable network set up to
cope with this and a fairly central location (inner south side close
to public transport).

Suggestions? Ideas? Agreement?
