Ubuntu-AU website

Good evening,

As discussed at the meeting tonight I think we need to work on
integration to the loco.ubuntu.com a bit better. To do this I wanted
to work out a way to make the RSS feed or ICAL feed work with the
current website so that the information is only updated once rather
than someone having to manually create 2 or more different events on
different places. From what was discussed it's likely that we are
going to need to upgrade the whole ubuntu.org.au site entirely to a
new drupal instance. I think borrowing heavily from
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDrupal would be a good start as this
should all fit in best with the new branding (well not so new
anymore).

The object of this email is to get some understanding of what we would
like to see on the ubuntu.org.au website that currently isn't there. I
was thinking at a bare minimum we'd need the header, side bar, theme,
planet and countdown from that wiki page as well as some sort of
calendaring module to accept the RSS or ICAL feed from
loco.ubuntu.com.

Now I'm sure Melissa will be willing to guide me through the process
of getting these things requested from Canonical (as the website is
hosted by them) but I wanted to nail down a list of requests before I
started making the application so it's not a mish mash of different
requests, just one single request.

So can anyone think of anything else we're missing? I'm far from a
drupal expert so I'm not certain of what else is available so please
let us all know.
