If it's Firefox, get the flash-aid plugin:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flash-aid/
and let it run. It's sorts out flash problems for most people.

Subject: Flash player installation via Synaptic
Hi,
I would like to install Flash player (YouTube tells me to install the
player) but am not sure which package to grab. Synaptic shows
flashplugin-nonfree - Adobe Flash Player plugin installer (transitional
package)
and
flashplugin-installer - Adobe Flash Player plugin installer
Which should I take?
Thanks,
Dave
