Converting tapes and records to cd

As long as you have an audio line in on your computer I'd probably
recommend reading up on Audacity [0]. It's done every type of
recording I've ever asked it to and the documentation for it all is
great. Most of the cheaper record to USB players you can buy in stores
actually come with a CD of Audacity on it to use as the conversion
tool. You may need to invest a couple of dollars (seriously, it will
only be a 2-3 dollars if you don't already have one or more) in a
connecting cable from the line out of the tape player to the line in
on the computer. The rest of the process is fairly well documented
[1]. It will record, convert and easily split up into tracks for both
tapes and records.
