<2hrs drive from Melbourne is Newstead (http://newstead.vic.au), which
has 3 free wifi APs (30min session limits, rolling 100Mb per 30min
download quota, http/s allowed, no miro/bt), ubuntu powered internet
cafe and some other geeky stuff. Motel is town is cheap too.
An alternative would be to switch to internode or some other ISP that
offers unmetered mirrors.
