Hi,

Can anybody shed some light on this error occurring during the boot
process, please:

Loading Hardware drivers ...
[ 1114.334894] ata7.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action
0x2 frozen
[ 1114.334895] ata7.00: cmd c8/00:08:87:dd:18/00:00:00:00:00:00:/e0
tag 0 dma 4096 in
[114.(334990)] ata7.00:status: {DRYD}
	                                                      [OK]
When it starts 'Loading Hardware drivers ...' I hear what sounds like a
drive starting up but none of my drives go into sleep mode.

I have Hardy 8.04 32-bit and Hardy 8.04 AMD64 on seperate drives with:
2 SATA drivers: Hardy 32 bit on one, Windows on the other
and 2 IDE drives.

No other OS knows any other exists - all were installed with the other
drives unplugged.

Hardy 8.04 32-bit is on sata ch 0. It has the same problem in boot but
the numbers may vary.

Forcing fsck solves nothing in Hardy AMD64, but in the 32 bit version it
clocks up a few of these.

Once logged in to the hardy 32 bit version, some tasks take a long time
(opening terminal, opening a drive, etc) and I hear a drive, if not
winding up the doing something like it.

David
