Upgrade to AMD 64bit?

I'm pretty certain that's a complete reinstall, since every single package
on the system must be replaced with a version compiled for amd64.
Additionally there are a few things that don't work so well on amd64, eg
Adobe Flash (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/Flash).
Your /home directory should be fine for use on the amd64 system though, so
if you have that on a separate partition you shouldn't need to wipe that.
