I use HP and find them quite good and they have Linux HPLIP software.
I've used a PSC-1610 MFP for a couple of years now. I only print 2-3
pages a week.
TCO seems to be mainly about the ink, so I think you should start from
the price of cartridges and whether or not you can refill them, and then
work backwards from there to select a printer.
