I haven't used the exact model you are speaking of but i have a Pixma
sitting in my garage due to the issues i had with it. I went out and
brought a HP in the end and its works out of the box. Sorry to say it
but the cannon drivers are absolute rubbish. I got mine working but it
took over 5 minutes to print each page on minimum quality so its wasn't
any use.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but unless things have changed
dramatically in the last year your in for an uphill battle sadly. Doom
and gloom aside their are third party drivers out there for some Cannons
that do work well so its just luck if yours will be usable.
