Karl,
Did you mean you also change your laptop (to the one with AMD-64 processor?).
I have just upgraded my laptop from Gutsy to Hardy too (same laptop,
i386, but a clean install because I got myself into a problem during
my online upgrade therefore I had to switch my laptop off. I think the
problem was because I browsed around using Firefox while my laptop was
being upgraded and since the memory of my laptop is not much,
everything just froze).
Anyway, looks good so far (except losing all my data really annoys me,
but it was my fault). My laptop is an old Compaq Presario 700, AMD
Duron 900 MHz, with only about 360 MB of memory, without a battery.
Enough for basic use, such as listening to internet radio, reading
news, checking email, writing documents and so on.
It is now connected to the internet by way of Belkin Wireless USB
Adapter. I haven't tried to install Skype and other fancy things yet.
Cheers,
Min
