Suggestions for wireless internet while travelling?

Hey Trisha.
I have my gutsy laptop setup able to access telstra or optus
(depending on which phone i use) wireless internet via my mobile.

I only have it working via bluetooth. I have not tried connecting the
phone via usb, and I have not tried any laptop wireless cards.

I found telstra nextg to be the fastest and have the best coverage.
But also very expensive to use. I'm on a 1gb plan for $109/month iirc.
