There is actually a program in the Ubuntu repositories which allows you
to burn to multiple CDs at the same time if you have multiple optical
drives. You can also do it "manually" by using two burning programs at
the same time. My computer's system bus isn't so crash hot so it might
have been faster to burn one at a time, but still this demonstrates how
powerful Linux is. Plus, I was using the Dapper kernel at the time -
maybe 2.6.20-16 would work better.

I have also ripped two CDs simultaneously with great results.
