enabling cube effect

To get around the choppy video issue I installed VLC media player and
in Settings > Preferences, Expand Video, select Output modules, check
Advanced Options and from the dropdown menu select X11 video output.

No more choppy video with Beryl/Compiz Desktop Effects enabled!
