Hello,
Just subscribed to this list hopefully it is active. I am new to Linux and
am attempting to give it a go again to see if it will work.
I made a copy of the Ubuntu desktop disc and tried the start/install option
to run it off RAM. It went on a bit and then crashed with this message:
BusyBox v......(more text)
/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off (initramfs)
The official ubuntu forums have some others with this issue and a solution
which works for some was presented however adding the break=top to options
did not change the result for me. No command prompt came, just the error
message.
It seems that Ubuntu is unlikely to work for me without a lot more linux
knowledge that i am missing. Do any of you have the knowledge and patience
to help on this issue or is there a distribution which is more likely to
work or should I stick to windows?
