Another handy trick is using Synaptic.
Run Synaptic, highlight the package you have installed, click on the
"Properties" icon then the "Installed Files" tab. Scroll through the
list and have a look for anything prefixed with /usr/bin or /usr/sbin.
This is also handy for finding icons to use in your menu entry - look
for files with extensions like .png or .xpm.
