Not sure about this. Of course any downloading will depend on the
speed of your internet connection. I didn't realise that the
installer did any downloading though. I would be fairly sure the
system will need at least one language pack in order to run.

Not sure about this either. See if the above guide helps. If not,
come back to the list with a bit more detail on how you connect to the
Internet and what you try to do that doesn't work (eg. any error
messages).

Cool. Although I hope your issues aren't related to their
modifications of the regular Xubuntu CD image (unlikely).
