trouble trying to install a driver

Hi

I am trying to install a driver for my Atlansic L2 Ethernet card. I have 
unzipped the complied module and placed it here:

lib/modules/2.6.22-14-generic/kernel/drivers/net

the code I am using is then in root is:

insmod /lib/modules/2.6.22-14-generic/kernel/drivers/net/atl2.ko

but I always get the response file not found. Am I doing what I am 
suppose to do and is there a easier way to install the driver?
