mono 1.2.4

hello all
Im trying to install mono 1.2.4. I have downloaded it. Im using feisty
The instruction tell me I need to have the component pkg-config. I have
downloaded pkg-config when I tried to configure it it stopped here

I am stuck can someone tell me what to do next.
